Senior School Programs
Year 10 - 12
Senior students are juggling a lot — academic stress, future uncertainty, shifting friendships, and rising self-expectation. These workshops are designed to meet them where they’re at, with tools that build resilience, focus, and emotional regulation in the lead-up to life beyond school.
Dealing with Conflict
Drawn from: Nonviolent Communication (NVC) + Schema Therapy
Conflict shows up everywhere — friendships, families, group chats, team projects.
This session helps students unpack the emotional drivers behind conflict and learn how to respond with clarity and compassion.
Students will learn to:
✔️ Identify core needs and beliefs that fuel conflict
✔️ Apply calm, assertive communication techniques
✔️ Reduce reactivity and improve peer relationships
📌 Why it works: Based in NVC principles and schema awareness, students learn how unmet needs, assumptions, and emotional triggers drive interpersonal tension.
Overcoming Procrastination
Procrastination isn’t a time issue — it’s an avoidance strategy.
This workshop helps students understand what they’re avoiding and teaches actionable tools to move through discomfort toward meaningful goals.
Drawn from: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Students will learn to:
✔️ Recognise avoidance patterns & unhelpful self-talk
✔️ Use values-driven goal setting to re-engage
✔️ Apply “tiny tasking” and present-moment awareness tools
📌 Why it works: CBT-based strategies help students build psychological flexibility — the skill that underpins resilience, motivation, and focus.
Inner Critic
Drawn from: Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) + Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Senior students are often high-functioning — but self-critical.
This workshop helps them develop self-awareness and self-compassion, while still striving for their best.
Students will learn to:
✔️ Spot the difference between motivation and self-judgment
✔️ Challenge distorted self-talk and perfectionism
✔️ Practise emotional regulation and self-kindness
📌 Why it works: Students explore the threat–drive–soothe system from CFT, alongside thought-challenging tools from CBT, to soften their inner voice and build confidence.
